Singapore adopts the vertical greening system as the frontier of the city greening, becoming literally a garden city. The highlevel terrace and the garden green plants supplement the loss of green caused by the development. The density was reduced through the combination of the element of “green” and “blue”. They build parks, streams, and ponds between skyscrapers, and have them served as the mechanism for preventing the flood. They had planted ample trees. There are 3 million trees all over Singapore, including a natural rainforest. In order to expand the bay, Singapore built one of the best freshwater reservoirs in the world and saved 250 acres of the prime lands for the garden near the bay, so that the city could have the precious “green lung.”

Amazon, the network retailer giant, established an ecosystem

What does the modern office lack of? You may find the answer at the new Amazon headquarter in Seattle. The new headquarter was named as the Spheres. It is a domed glass globe building that simulates the forest ecological system. It imitates the Equator, having 12 hours of sunlight, and addresses the necessity and urgency of the connection between human being and nature. The office is planted with over 40 thousand of plants, making it looks like a rainforest conservation area. There are various plants from over 50 countries across five continents. Some of them are rare species that could not be found in the natural habitat. Since the Sphere has been established, it has received plants from ecologists all over the world, with the hope that these plants will grow. The architecture has now become the crucial element of City Greening Movement.
